MILWAUKEE – A packed week of home events and some promotional events sponsored by the MSOE Student-Athlete Advisory Council (SAAC) highlight DIII Week activities planned by MSOE Athletics.
DIII Week runs from April 3-9 and is a positive opportunity for all individuals associated with Division III to observe and celebrate the impact of athletics and of student-athletes on the campus and surrounding community.
MSOE will extend the beginning of the week to Saturday, April 1, to include a full slate of home events. Most notably, Lacrosse will host Monmouth at 1 p.m. in its USILA/HEADstrong Cancer Awareness Game. Softball and Baseball also have home doubleheaders at MSOE Athletic Field and The Rock Complex, respectively, beginning at 12 p.m.
Members of SAAC and the MSOE Athletic Department will be handing out free t-shirts on Monday, April 3, in the Great Room of the Campus Center to promote the week.
SAAC is also sponsoring a ping pong tournament—D3 Week Duels—Thursday from 6-9 p.m. in the CC Game Room. The entry fee is $1 in advance (by emailing email@example.com) and $2 at the door. The tournament is open to all students, faculty, and staff, with brackets for both novice and advanced players. There will be pizza, popcorn, and drinks provided. Proceeds from the event will benefit Special Olympics.
There will be raffles open to attendees of events and additional prizes for tweeting pictures from DIII Week events using the hashtags #WeArrrD3 and #D3Week.
The Lacrosse team hosts Concordia Chicago Wednesday at 7 p.m. and Men's Volleyball will host Biz Casual Night Friday night at 7 p.m. On Saturday, Rowing, Men's Tennis, Softball, Men's Volleyball and Lacrosse are all in action at home. Visit GO-RAIDERS.com for complete up-to-date event information.
