Offense Goes Cold Late As Warhawks Defeat Raiders

MILWAUKEE – MSOE men's basketball played on their home court for the first time in the 2019-20 season on Tuesday night, taking on a Wisconsin-Whitewater team that they haven't played against since 2007. Unfortunately, the series record moved to 4-0 in favor of the Warhawks who take down the Raiders thanks to a big first half.

RESULTS
Wisconsin-Whitewater – 81
MSOE – 77

HOW IT HAPPENED
The early moments of tonight's ballgame could have predicted an even matchup between MSOE (2-1) and Wisconsin-Whitewater (1-0). That prediction would have probably come true if it wasn't for a big run from the Warhawks in the first half that would end up dooming the Raiders hopes of moving to 3-0 and defeating UWW for the first time in the program's history. The Warhawks outscored the Raiders 30-21 in the last ten minutes of the first half, but it was the 14-4 run to send us into halftime that really put the Red & White in a hole. The Raiders wouldn't go down easy, however. They scratched and clawed their way back into the ballgame and took the lead at 59-57 with 12:36 left in the second frame. The ownership over the scoreboard switched hands numerous times after that, but with the score tied at 70, the Raiders offense went cold at the most inopportune time. With 4:47 left in the game, the Warhawks scored the last 11 of 18 points to give us our final score of 81-77 and the first MSOE loss inside Hotchkin Arena this season.
