MILWAUKEE - Senior Michael Romund of the MSOE hockey team has been named the NCHA Offensive Player of the Week for the week of Feb. 4 the league office announced Tuesday.
The award is the second of the season for Romund, who also picked up the honor Dec. 16.
Romund registered three goals and a pair of assists in leading the Hockey team to a key weekend sweep of Concordia Wisconsin on the ice. He scored a goal and assisted on two others in a 4-3 Friday before netting two goals in a 5-3 win on the road. Romund has now lit the lamp in four-straight games and has pulled into a tie for the team lead with eight goals and 15 points this season.
With the wins, the Raiders overtook CUW in the playoff standings and put themselves in the driver's seat for a Harris Cup Playoff position. MSOE has a three-point lead over the Falcons with two games remaining.
The Raiders return to the ice Friday, hosting Trine.
