Raiders Enter Season Ranked Third In NACC Poll

MILWAUKEE – One year after winning the NACC regular season championship, the MSOE men's soccer team is ready to defend their crown. Based on the NACC preseason poll, it might be a nail biter down the stretch when it's all said and done however. The top three teams are separated by just 32 points as the Raiders enter the regular season ranked third.

The poll, which is conducted by the conference office and voted on by the NACC's men's soccer head coaches and sports information directors, ranked Dominican at the top of the list with 275 points, including 11 first place votes. Aurora came in second with 246 points and four first place votes. The Red & White were right on the heels of the Spartans however, coming in with 243 points and seven first place votes, three more than AU received.

The Raiders finished last season with a 15-4-0 record, and if that wasn't already impressive, they lost just one match in conference regular season play. They were one win away from a third NCAA berth in five seasons, but fell to Dominican 4-1 in the tournament championship game.

Newly elevated head coach Rob Harrington will look to get his team started off on the right foot when they open play against UW-Platteville on August 30th. The men will then come back to Milwaukee for their home opener on September 7th against Ripon.
