Schauer's Hat Trick Paves Way For Raider Victory

Schauer's Hat Trick Paves Way For Raider Victory

ROCKFORD, Ill. – After being handed a 3-0 loss to Dominican on Wednesday, the Raiders men's soccer team was ready to get back on the horse and try to make it three wins in four games. The Regents of Rockford made this goal fairly easy for the Raiders who defeated them by the score of 4-1.

MSOE – 4
Rockford – 1

It was the Joey Schauer show for MSOE (6-5-1, 4-2 NACC), as the junior contributed three goals on Saturday afternoon. Schauer scored goals at 11:29, 56:12, and 62:31 to tally the natural hat trick, giving the Raiders a 3-0 lead before the Regents could find the scoreboard. Rockford (4-10-1, 1-5 NACC) was only able to come up with seven shots throughout the 90-minute match, and only three found their way on goal. This can be attributed to the Raiders tenacious defense, who has limited the shooting ability for a mass majority of their opponents this season, even in losses. After Rockford cut the lead down to one with a goal at the 73' mark, Arsenius Adogmhe answered back less than a minute later to secure the win for the Raiders and move them to two games over .500 in NACC play.
