EAU CLAIRE, Wis. – Senior Eric Klamrowski won two singles matches and added a doubles win to led the MSOE men's tennis team to a 1-1 record against Loras and UW-Eau Claire Saturday at UWEC.
The Raiders (2-4) opened their day with an 8-1 win over the Duhawks (0-4), but then fell to the Blugolds (5-3) by the same score.
In the opening match, Klamrowski picked up a 7-5, 6-4 win at No. 1 singles. He paired with freshman David Gorodetsky for a 9-8 win. Against Eau Claire, Klamrowski notched MSOE's only point, also in the No. 1 singles position. He rallied from a 6-1 loss in the first set to win the second 7-6 and took the point with a 10-7 win in the third set.
Gorodetsky also picked up his first collegiate singles win, competing at No. 6 and winning 6-0, 6-1.
Junior Zachary Dam and freshman John Price also won both singles and doubles points against Loras. Dam won at No. 1 singles 6-1, 6-1 and teamed with junior Matt Slaughter for a 8-0 win at No. 2 doubles. Price competed at No. 5 singles, sweeping past his opponent 6-0, 6-0. At No. 3 doubles, he paired with freshman Tom Smith on an 8-2 win.
Senior Reekah Delfanian rounded out the Red and White winners on the day, claiming a 6-4, 6-2 win at No. 4 singles.
The Raiders return to action Friday, hosting St. Mary's (Minn.) at Elite Sports Clubs in Mequon.
