MILWAUKEE – Dominican hit .324, compared to just .049 for the MSOE men's volleyball team, as the Raiders fell to the Stars 25-16, 25-17, 25-18 Tuesday evening at the Kern Center.
MSOE (4-18, 1-8 CVC) fell for the ninth-straight time, while splitting the season series with Dominican (11-13, 3-6 ) 2-2.
Sophomore Brett Herbers finished with seven kills on a .267 attack percentage to lead the Red and White. Freshman Frank Tokarz and sophomore Seaon Donovan had five kills apiece, while Tokarz hit .375 for the match.
Zachary Sinn had nine kills for the Stars, who hit .400 in the final set to close out the match.
Dominican hit .333 in the opening set, as it broke open an 8-7 with a 7-2 run. The visitors then closed out the frame on a 6-1 run to take a 1-0 lead. The second set was also close, with the scored tied as late as DU rattled off seven-straight points to seize control.
MSOE played its best set at the end, hitting .115, but the Stars hit .400. They jumped ahead 7-1 early, but the Red and White rallied for a late 8-4 run. Unfortunately, it came too late as Dominican closed out the match on the next point.
Errors proved to be the Raiders' downfall, as they committed 23 in the match. The Stars committed just 11 on seven less attacks.
MSOE closes out the regular season Saturday, hosting Lakeland at the Kern Center at 1 p.m.
