MILWAUKEE – The MSOE women's basketball team shook off a rocky first half, but it was not enough in a 66-52 loss to Benedictine Saturday afternoon at the Kern Center.
The Raiders (12-10, 10-6 NACC) shot just 23.5 percent in the first half and went into halftime trailing the Eagles (8-12, 8-7 NACC), but rebounded to outscore the visitors in the second half.
Meghan Novak scored a game-high 20 points for BenU, while Vincenza Ranalio scored 13 points. Kam Hafleigh and Michelle Gaede finished with 10 points each.
Benedictine shot a strong 53.3 percent in the first half, building a 37-19 lead by the intermission. The Raiders rebounded in the second half, shooting 44.4 percent and pulling within eight on multiple occasions. Unfortunately, that was as close as MSOE would get.
The Red and White return to action Wednesday, heading to Mequon to take on Concordia Wisconsin.
