MILWAUKEE – Senior Holly Denfeld of the MSOE women's basketball team has been named the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference Player of the Week for Jan. 10, the league office announced late Monday.
Denfeld reached multiple career milestones last week as she continued her outstanding play this season. She posted double-doubles against Concordia Wisconsin and Aurora, averaging 19.0 points and 14.5 rebounds per game. She has not registered double-doubles in three-straight games and six of her last seven. Limited to just 24 minutes against CUW, she still went out and turned in 18 points and 13 rebounds, while surpassing 1,500 career points. Then, during a 20-point, 16-rebound performance against AU, she went past 900 career rebounds.
Denfeld is currently averaging 17.7 points and a league-best 10.4 rebounds per game with eight double-doubles this season. For her career, she has 1,532 points and 901 rebounds. She's 60 points from second place in school history on the career scoring chart and 99 boards from becoming the third player in NACC history with 1,000.
The Raiders are back in action Wednesday, playing at Lakeland.
