MILWAUKEE – It was worth the wait. The Raiders and North Park University resumed their game from last Wednesday, but with a fresh slate. While the early score of 1-1 matched the previous attempt, MSOE separated themselves with an offensive explosion in a dominate win against the Vikings Wednesday night.
North Park – 1
MSOE – 6
HOW IT HAPPENED
Caitie LeVasseur started off the scoring this evening at the 10' mark, thanks to a breakaway setup from Brooke Zidek. That wouldn't be the only time the MSOE (3-2-1) teammates found the scoresheet. After North Park (1-4-0) netted one of their own with just under 23 minutes elapsed, the Raider offense entered a take no prisoners mentality. LeVasseur would send the Raiders into the intermission with the lead thanks to a breakaway goal where she beat two defenders to make it 2-1.
The Red & White doubled their output in the second half, starting with a Nicole Robb goal that came via a header off of a Gracie Horton corner kick. Mariah Trevino scored her first Raider goal eight minutes later, as Zidek once again set up a teammate to earn her second assist of the evening. LeVasseur buried a Jill Ruark pass thanks to a nice deke at the mouth of the goal to give her the hat trick. Finally, Jade Becknell finished off the busy Raider night at 82' off of a Josie Kunz pass to set the end result of 6-1.
- 19 different Raiders played in the game this evening
- The shot opportunities were spread out, as 10 different players launched the ball towards the net. Eight of those players registered at least one shot on goal
- Out of the six Raider goals, five of them were credited with assists.
