GLENDALE, Wis. – Saturday was a historic day for MSOE triathlon. The Raiders hosted the first race in the program's history, with two other teams joining in on the festivities. When all was said and done, the Red & White came out with a second-place victory in what we hope to be the first of many MSOE Splash N' Dash events.
2nd out of 3 (23 points)
Rachel Ruona once again topped the Raiders efforts, placing herself on the podium with a third place finish at the Splash N' Dash. She recorded a swim time of 13:09 but came back with the fastest running segment of any competitor at 20:54. She might have been able to shave off more time and challenge for the top spot, but there was no biking portion to the event. Chloe Moran also helped out the Raiders effort with another top ten finish, coming in eighth place with a total time of 39:30.
- Two Raiders were dealing with injuries and only participated in the swimming portion of the event.
- The event also served as a fundraiser for the program, raffling off a premium bike to those in attendance.
The Raiders will be back at it next weekend, heading to Champaign, Ill. for the Tri the Illini Triathlon. The race is scheduled to start at 7:00 am.
