MILWAUKEE – Unfortunately, it was the end of the road for two MSOE seniors on their home court this evening. And while they would have loved to play postseason volleyball at the Kern Center this season, they went out with a respectable 3-0 loss to Benedictine.
Benedictine – 3 (25, 25, 25)
MSOE – 0 (21, 21, 17)
HOW IT HAPPENED
MSOE (7-18, 2-7 NACC) turned in another solid effort this evening against another top team in the NACC. The Raiders hit .155 as a team and had no less than ten kills in each set. But just like last night, the Benedictine (15-6, 5-3 NACC) offense was just too much to handle. The Eagles had 45 total kills and only 12 errors, good for a .347 hitting percentage. The Red & White hung right with BU in the first set, tied at 19-19 before the Eagles went on a 6-2 run to close out the first win of the night. MSOE played from behind in the second, but a late rally made things interesting before ultimately falling short. In the final set the Raiders just ran out of gas, seeing a game that was fairly close early on pull away from them with yet another big Benedictine rally to close the match out in straight sets.
- The Raiders finish the 2019 season 4-7 at home, the exact record they had in 2018.
- Benedictine has had the Raiders number, as the Red & White have lost four in a row and 16 out of 17 to the Eagles.
