PLYMOUTH, Wis. – The Raiders women's volleyball season came to an end last night when they visited Lakeland Wednesday evening. While some of their preseason goals didn't play out like they wanted them to, there were enough shining bright spots to focus on overall in their 3-1 loss to the Muskies.
MSOE – 1 (17, 22, 25, 15)
Lakeland – 3 (25, 25, 23, 25)
HOW IT HAPPENED
MSOE (9-21, 3-9 NACC) held their own against Lakeland (16-14, 10-2 NACC) for the most part in Wednesday's contest, playing close in most sets while taking one for themselves against the NACC regular season co-champions. The Raiders hit .157 as a team, highlighted by a third set where they attacked to the tune of .256 with 16 kills and only five errors. The Red & White also had 15 kills in the second set but couldn't close the gap enough in the 25-22 loss. However, in sets one and four, MSOE wasn't able to get in double figures in kills while only hitting .065 and .069 respectively. The Muskies had 10 service aces while the Raiders had 11 service errors which made the difference in the losing sets. The Red & White played tough through the very last serve as they close out the 2019 season with a 3-1 defeat.
- Allie Laurent finishes her Raider career with 1655 assists, the fifth best total in program history.
- Quinn Borchert ended with the third best hitting percentage in a single season, attacking to a clip of .322
- The Red & White ended the season with a 3-9 NACC record, the exact same win/loss total that they had in the 2018 season.
